I had a dodgy laptop HD that had started to show signs of wear. A quick pop into a full-sized desktop using this wee adapter resulted in me rescuing about 99% of my 'mostly unimportant data but stuff I didn't want to lose' catagory. <br /> <br />If you have some 2.5" drives laying around then for the price it's worth its weight in gold. Plug and play - works 100% as described - no messy slave/master stuff (you should use a CABLE SELECT IDE and have your ducks in a row before plugging it in). <br /> <br />Great! I tried every jumper configuration possible without shorting it to ground via the dreaded "never do this" position.
